Holidaymaking.

Winter Haven, FL is some 55 miles directly east of the Tampa International Airport, and it allows for a qualitative weekend respite because it is unremarkable.  It is a Florida city that seems to have been left alone, as if it was developed in the 1950s and then left to be.  No waves of new development or expansion, or new city planning, or relics of past ideas are visible.  The only way you would know you're in the year 2022 is because a microbrewery, Grove Roots Brewing Co. opened in an old utility trailer repair shop in the middle of the city.  Take a short bike ride from the brewery and you will pass a citrus grove bursting with ripe grapefruits.  And be sure to return soon because there are enough restaurants to keep a casual foodie engaged.
